This Camp Hill couple wanted to downsize their home but stay in the Borough. They were thrilled to find a smaller ranch in the neighborhood, but wanted to undertake an extensive remodel of the home before moving in. Enter Excel. The family had worked with Excel on four remodeling projects in their previous home and always appreciated the quality workmanship and adherence to timelines. For this whole home remodel, Excel added a peak to the exterior; put on a new siding and a new roof; added new soffits, down spouts, and a new front door; raised the outside front step; replaced the large picture window; handled the piping for the conversion to gas heat and the paving for the sidewalks and driveway… and that was just on the outside! Inside the home, Excel created a doorway so the couple can close off the sleeping rooms from the main living space, and remodeled the bathrooms, kitchen, and sunroom, as well as creating a laundry room by extending into the narrow, one-car garage – the remainder of which now serves as storage shed space. The couple was very involved in every detail over the 2-month long project, from the outside Rhode-Island inspired look with a bright red door and contrasting dark grey exterior, to the custom details on the interior such as the distressed-look vinyl planking in the kitchen and laundry area, and the shallow kitchen cabinet specifically designed to hold their spice collection.
